Curator Remco Beckers gave me the opportunity to premiere my piece Street Scene as part of the finnisage weekend for Frozen Music/Bevroren Muziek at Bureau Europa. With the help of Nader Adabnejad, a workshop was organised and the participants formed the performing ensemble.
Street Scene is a kind of improvisatory game/exercise comprising of a set of parts with instructions for performers. The instructions do not require the ability to read music, which is why a workshop with open signup was possible for this performance. The parts have rules that encourage each participant to switch between multiple parts. The aim is to have an improvisatory soundscape of a city with a completely indeterminate form.
